The Department of English was established with the founding of the college in 1968. Since its inception, it has enjoyed a place of pride in the Science college where students take great interest in the learning of this foreign language. It has been headed by teachers of great eminence who have nurtured an intellectual atmosphere where all can contribute their best for the welfare and all-around development of the students. English Department has always taken initiative to organize extracurricular activities such as Quiz contests, declamation contests, speech competitions,s, etc. For the holistic development of the students. At the same time, the Head of Department is deeply involved in the various administrative bodies of the college and contributes towards the running of the institution.
The department has also formed a literary society called R.K.Narayan literary Society which organizes literary events from time to time.
